New Cafe Alert In The East: $15++ Lunch Promos!
Some places just get it — good food, great coffee, and a space that makes you want to stay awhile. The Upper Room checks all those boxes and then some.
The menu at The Upper Room is a delightful mix of comfort and creativity. Whether you’re craving a hearty brunch to kickstart your day or a light bite to pair with your afternoon coffee, there’s something here for every mood.
The Upper Room Restaurant & Cafe
The Upper Room is a chill little café tucked near Lavender — central enough to be convenient, but quiet enough to feel like a hidden gem. It’s the kind of place you wander into once and end up staying longer than planned. The vibe? Warm, laid-back, and welcoming. On top of good food and solid coffee, they’ve got regular events like live music and workshops that give the space a real community feel.
Who’s Behind The Upper Room?
Wyman is the one quietly holding it all together — the vision, the values, and the vibes. Let’s just say: it’s soulful, symbolic, and full of purpose.
From quiet reflections to bold decisions, this space has been shaped with intention every step of the way. Look a little closer and you’ll notice—nothing here is by accident. There’s meaning in the details, and a story behind every corner.
Ongoing Lunch Promo Specials
If you're in the area during the day, their lunch promo is a total steal. For just $15–22, you’ll get:
✔️ 1 Main
✔️ A choice of appetiser – Cabbage Salad, Soup of the Day, or Fried Wonton Skin
✔️ Ice Lemon Tea
Delicious, satisfying, and easy on the wallet — now that’s lunch done right.
What’s New on the Menu?
We recently got to try The Upper Room’s new menu and let’s just say... we’re still thinking about it.
The Miso Pasta? Hands down our favourite — rich, savoury, and super comforting without being too heavy. The Mentaiko Corn was another unexpected hit. It’s simple, but the flavour combo really works — sweet, salty, creamy, all in one bite.
We were honestly a bit skeptical about the Army Stew Pizza, but it turned out to be way better than expected. Spicy, cheesy, and somehow everything came together.
The Kimchi Fried Rice hits all the right notes if you’re craving something hearty, and the Hae Bee Hiam Pasta brings that bold, spicy kick we love in local flavours.
It’s not new but it’s worth a shoutout — their Yakitori. Great for sharing, or just ordering a bunch for yourself. No judgement here.
The Art and Style Inside
One wall features a striking painting of the Wedding at Cana — where Jesus performed his first miracle and turned water into wine. It's a subtle nod to joy, celebration, and good times — exactly the kind of atmosphere Wyman hopes people feel when they walk in.
The rest of the space? Warm wood, soft lighting, and loft-style comfort that makes you want to linger just a little longer.
More Than Just a Café
The Upper Room isn’t just for coffee dates and chill lunches — it’s also a space for celebrations. From intimate birthday parties to cozy private events, they’ve hosted it all. The loft layout and warm ambience make it feel personal, while the food (obviously) brings the flavour.
